Individualized Education Plan - The IEP is designed to help determine the pathway to success for
children with handicapping conditions.  The IEP team (members consist of a regular education
teacher, special education teacher, administrative representative, and the student -if old enough-, and
parents/guardians) sets goals and measureable objectives for students identified with a handicapping
condition.  Typically, teachers create a draft form of strategies that are directly correlated to the goals
and objectives, but the IEP team makes the final decision.

The parent/guardian is required to receive (or be offered) a Parent Handbook of Educational Rights.

The parent/guardian is educated on the assessment procedures for the IEP objectives and goals.

The IEP is re-visited at least once a year.
